Excuse me, but let’s not forget that the United States put sanctions on Japan, which is what led to the tension in the first place. Not that Hirohito was a good person or anything, but it’s important to recognize that we were involved in the events that ultimately led up to the bombings. 

Not to mention that Japan was this close to surrendering because of economic pressure from the Soviet Union.

And Japan most definitely did not say “bring it,” the bomb was a complete surprise. Even if they did, punishing their leadership for it by killing thousands of civilians with nukes - to “intimidate them” - is still incredibly fucked up.

It blows my mind when people try to justify the bombing of Hiroshima.

Also, 1812 happened literally in my backyard. It counts.

not you mention you cant really justify killing 100k+ people with a couple of bombs
