Shell Oil — the company which poisoned most of Nigeria and then got its paid-off government to execute nine of its citizens for “treason” for trying to get Shell to clean up the unbelievably-toxic messes — is soon heading off to the now-pristine icy waters of the Arctic Ocean, to pull more petroleum up from under the earth’s crust, just so we can keep burning it in our cars and furnaces and factories. Or, really, most of it will be sold off to other countries. We’ll still get to breathe the polluted air and drink the polluted water and eat the polluted food when it comes back around to the USA.

Shell says it knows how to handle a spill if it happens, but non-Shell scientists say that NO ONE knows whether anything can even be done, if a spill happens in those cold, very deep waters.
