No sooner had President Obama announced an executive order that makes it possible for young people, 30 and under, who were brought to this country when they were under the age of 16, to avoid the threat of deportation through deferrals, than U.S. Rep. and Tea Partier Steve King of Iowa —the man who thinks we should pick our immigrants like we pick our hunting dogs, using a “pick of the litter” approach— was buttonholing every willing listener to say he’s going to sue to block the President’s actions.

And then Rush jumped right in, on a rant he claims that Congress “defeated the Dream Act.”

The fact is that last year the Senate failed to overcome a bipartisan filibuster against the DREAM Act, by a vote of 55 to 41, just five short of the 60 needed to advance the immigration bill to a final debate in the chamber. Nothing has been done since.
