Not to mention both having Monsanto & Pharma ties :(

The group behind the Nuns On A Bus tour that highlighted the ill-effects of the House Republican budget in congressional districts across the country is now setting its sights on the party’s presidential candidate, inviting Mitt Romney to spend a day with the nuns to learn about the plight of America’s poorest citizens.

NETWORK, a national Catholic social justice lobby, is inviting Romney to “spend a day with Catholic Sisters who work every day to meet the needs of struggling families in their communities,” according to a release. The group is specifically targeting Romney a day after his campaign released a misleading ad about welfare reform that Sister Simone Campbell, NETWORK’s executive director, said “demonize[s] families in poverty” and shows Romney’s “ignorance about the challenges” the poor face in America:

Recent advertisements and statements from the campaign of Governor Romney demonize families in poverty and reflect woeful ignorance about the challenges faced by tens of millions of American families in these tough economic times,” stated Sister Simone Campbell. “We are all God’s children and equal in God’s eyes. Efforts to divide us by class or score political points at the expense of the most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters reveal the worst side of our country’s politics.”

Romney has endorsed the House GOP budget plan authored by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). It was that plan, which includes deep cuts to food stamps and other safety net programs that benefit the middle class, that NETWORK’s Nuns On A Bus tour targeted, with Campbell and other sisters blasting it as “immoral” at the tour’s conclusion in Washington D.C. Romney has also proposed massive tax cuts for the rich that would likely come at the expense of lower- and middle-class families, which would see higher taxes or significant cuts to the programs they depend on.

If Romney were to accept their invitation, Campbell said she would take him to places like St. Augustine’s in Cleveland, where food programs “provide a hand up” to the community’s neediest members. “He thinks they’re lazy,” Campbell said, in reference to Romney’s misleading welfare reform ad. “It is hard work to keep things together when you’re poor. He doesn’t have a clue. Let him talk to them, and maybe they’ll touch his heart. And his mind too.”

The Romney campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but Campbell said she “lives in hope” that he will accept, even if he spends only an hour with the group. “I’ll take whatever I can get,” Campbell said. “He should accept.”

Son of murdered Sikh Temple president asks why Obama & Romney have not visited victimsAugust 15, 2012
Last weekend, Michelle Obama made a surprise visit to a hospital in Aurora, Colorado to meet with victims of last month’s movie theater shooting there. Her husband, President Barack Obama, also met with those affected by the horrific shooting just two days after it occurred. However, neither the president or the First Lady has visited Oak Creek, Wisconsin where six people were killed at a Sikh Temple sixteen days after the incident in Aurora. Amardeep Kaleka, whose father was killed at Oak Creek, said he finds it “strange” his community hasn’t received more support from President Obama and Mitt Romney.
“Why wouldn’t they, at some point, make a stand. Make a stand for everybody out there who’s ever been robbed, or gunned down or has faced this hatred,” Mr. Kaleka said.
“We communicated with the White House very briefly, mostly the Department of Justice, and that’s about it. There was a phone call made with Barack on the first day, on Sunday, to just a random congregation member,” said Mr. Kaleka. “Somehow, some way he got somebody’s number and he called a congregation member. He’s never called the victim’s families, not even the board that my father led before he died.”
In a White House press briefing two days after the shooting in Oak Creek White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked whether flags were at half mast to commemorate those who were killed and whether the president would be meeting with the victims.
“I have no calls or scheduling announcements, or schedule changes to announce to you at this time.  But the answer is yes with regards to the flags being lowered,” Mr. Carney said.
Mr. Kaleka believes there’s two main reasons why the Sikh community in Oak Creek hasn’t gotten the same kind of support from the president that the people of Aurora received–the tense political climate in Wisconsin and the fact Sikhs are a religious minority.
“First and foremost, I think it’s politics,” said Mr. Kaleka. “Wisconsin is an obviously pivotal state in most of these situations, especially presidential elections because we could swing either way. We have a big gun control issue here…and then we have the labor problem with…so, we have a lot of politics at play in our state and I wonder if that makes people want to stay away from speaking about this, or visiting us, or showing support.”
He also said many at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin believe their status as a largely immigrant community and minority religion has kept politicians away.

Three years ago, Mitt Romney proposed a constitutional amendment that would say “the president has to spend three years working in business before he becomes president of the United States. Then he or she would understand that the policies they are putting into place have to encourage small business to grow.”

This is what happened when Julie Goodridge, half of the lesbian couple that brought a landmark state appellate court case dealing with same-sex marriage in Massachusetts, went to talk to Mitt Romney while still Governor.

On the way out of the meeting Mitt told her to keep telling her ‘adopted’ child whatever she had been. The reason that’s such a big deal is the whole case revolved around Julie’s partner not being able to visit her in the hospital after a very difficult birth.

This video is part of the Mitt Gets Worse campaign.

I do not want a war criminal to be a heart beat away from being the Commander in Chief. But, apparently, that is what Romney wants.

I am not jealous of Mitt Romney’s money or his expensive ass dressage horse. I am not jealous of his money at all. I am truly indifferent to Mitt Romney’s wealth and how much it may be but what I’m NOT indifferent to is just how the fact that he’s wealthy, has always been wealthy, and will always be wealthy has seemed to make him completely unaware of the things people who have never and will never even come CLOSE to a fraction of what he makes. Mitt Romney isn’t the kind of person who probably even knows what the cost of college is let alone the price of milk.
I am not jealous of someone else’s wealth simply because I expect a certain level of awareness and empathy.

Republican Fundraiser Charged With Kidnapping, Raping Multiple Women
A high-profile Republican fundraiser who co-chaired at least one event for presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been accused of kidnapping and raping several women that he met online and at church.
The Salt Lake Tribune reported that 37-year-old Gregory Peterson had been arrested on Wednesday and charged with 23 felonies and two misdemeanors. Charges included “nine counts of forcible sexual abuse, seven counts of rape, three counts of object rape, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, forcible sodomy, assault, burglary and sexual battery,” according to KSL. As of Thursday afternoon, we was still being held at the Salt Lake County jail on $750,000 bond.
Charging documents indicated that Peterson victimized a least four women, three of whom he met at an online dating site.
A fourth woman he met at a church function in 2011 agreed to go to a movie with him, but he allegedly forced her to go to his 3,000-square-foot cabin in Heber, Utah after telling her he had a gun. Peterson is accused of sexually assaulting the woman and hitting her when she didn’t follow his instructions.
He is also accused of threatening to report a woman he met online for having an expired visa. He then allegedly drove her to his cabin where she was raped and assaulted.
Peterson’s Facebook page showed a photo him meeting with Romney and indicated that he co-chaired at least one Romney fundraiser on Nov. 17, 2007, according to Talking Points Memo. ABC 4 obtained a photo of Peterson with his arm around a smiling Romney at another event.
Peterson owns Peterson Wealth Management and the online trading website Smartstocks.com. He also holds an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Brigham Young University.

Republican Mitt Romney insists his No. 1 job is fixing the economy but a former Reagan administration anti-porn prosecutor says the candidate’s campaign has assured him that he also will “vigorously” crack down on pornographers if he is elected president.

Patrick Trueman, a former head of the Justice Department’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section and now the head of Morality in Media, told the conservative Daily Caller that he was quietly promised that fighting porn will be a top priority in a Romney White House.

As late as 2007, Romney had vowed to implement a policy that would restrict the freedom to browse the Internet.

“I want to make sure that every new computer sold in this country after I’m president has installed on it a filter to block all pornography, and that parents can click that filter to make sure their kids don’t see that kind of stuff coming in on their computer,” Romney said at an event in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Ann Romney

“He’s a very generous person,” she told ABC’s Robin Roberts of Mitt Romney. “We give 10 percent of our income to our church every year. Do you think that is the kind of person who is trying to hide things, or do things? No. He is so good about it. Then, when he was governor of Massachusetts, didn’t take a salary in the four years.”

“We’ve given all you people need to know and understand about our financial situation and how we live our life,” she said.

Romney also repeated her husband’s justification for not releasing more information. Doing so would only give opponents “more material for attack,” she said.

That’s all fine and good, but, know this; So far we know Romney likes to put his money into perfectly legal tax free/exempt/or below average options. The Mormon Church has billions of dollars in corporate holdings, all tax-free and all funded by tax-free donations. And the church doesn’t care much for civil rights.
