"Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple."

It Stands to Reason, Skeptics Can Be Sexist Too: I spoke out about sexual harassment among atheists and scientists. Then came the rape threats. “When I first started finding a large audience on my skepticism website, on my podcast, and on YouTube, I wasn’t terribly bothered by the occasional rape threat, sexist slur, or insult about my looks. There was something downright amusing about a creationist calling me a cunt while praying that I’d find the love of Jesus. The threats were coming from outside of my community. Outside of my safe space. It wasn’t until I started talking about feminism to skeptics that I realized I didn’t have a safe space.”

“If you were to press your heart close up against somebody else’s heart eventually your hearts will start beating at the same time. And two little babies in an incubator, their hearts will beat at the same time. Love that. So if you have somebody in your life that is prone to anxiety, like myself, and if you happen to be a calm person, you could come up and hug me heart to heart and my heart hopefully would slow to yours. And I just love that idea. Or maybe yours would speed up to mine. But either way, we’ll be there together.”

I agree with this. Just grow a back bone and vote for the person you sincerely believe is the best. And if non of them do (I find this hard to believe. There are so many political parties and candidates) don’t vote. Or write yourself in. Or, if you’re and anarchist, rawk on!
LOL - I wait for the newly 18 year old voters who go on and on about anarchy then tell you who you should vote for. Every four years! I love it. They are so cute!

Just that simple.

Basically.

I need people to understand that being “irreverent” doesn’t equate to being a racist doucheknuckle. As in, this man manages to be both reflexive AND irreverent.

"Veganism is not elitist, what is elitist is the thought that your palate pleasure and convenience justify the suffering and death of another sentient being."

Gary L Francione is the Distinguished Professor of Law and Nicholas deB. Katzenbach Scholar of Law & Philosophy at Rutgers School of Law-Newark.[1]

His work has focused on three issues: the property status of animals, the differences between animal rights and animal welfare, and a theory of animal rights based on sentience alone, rather than on any other cognitive characteristics.
